Closing's moved to Thursday, due to a complete cock-up at my financial institute that holds my stocks, etc. The two people who've handled it over the last several years suddenly upped and left, without telling anyone, including me. I've lived here 25 years now -- almost half my lifetime! -- and know every crack, crevice, plant in the yard, every quirk of the 2.5 acres I call home.

The cats are clinging to their favorite windows as they see us pack.

The inspection went swimmingly today. I am exhausted. House closing should be within a week. I just need the title searched (that should be tomorrow), and I need to liquidate my stocks for the cash to buy the house outright ( Read more... )

Had last appointment with the orthopedics dept at Dartmouth re my perpetually broken right arm. The PA declared it "done" -- the X-rays make it clear it's really not healed, though. Looks like I'm spending the rest of my life disabled.
